In 1997, Trek producer Michael Piller began writing the initial drafts of what would eventually become Star Trek's 9th movie, "Insurrection."  When the TNG movie opened to very mixed reviews, the late writer also created a book that explained the process of how "Insurrection" went from concept to the final product on the screen.  This book was never published, but is now available online and is an interesting look not only behind the scenes in the Star Trek production offices, but Hollywood film-making in general.  This week, Mike and Barry review, "Fade In: From Idea to Final Draft - the writing of Star Trek: Insurrection" and find out what characters and plot-lines never made it to the screen in Episode 42, "The Insurrection That Almost Was"
