With the future of televised Trek constantly in flux, the world of web-based, fan Trek productions continues to flourish. With so many non-CBS and non-Paramount productions currently on the web or in production, we thought it would be fun to give those producers a little....inspiration. This week, Mike and Barry apply their considerable brainstorming skills and submit a few helpful suggestions on web-based, fan-produced Star Trek mini-series - limited run web series that "fill in the gaps" of Trek lore that might never have been produced by the parent companies. From Picard's early years, to the ongoing adventures of the Office of Temporal Investigations, to the origins of Section 31 and the hijinks of past Trek scoundrels, join us as we speculate on the Trek that never was, but possibly could be with the right amount of imagination.
Noble captain or weak pretender? Gallant leader of explorers or washed-up water polo player? On Episode 39 of the "All Good Things Star Trek Podcast," Mike and Barry discuss the legacy of Captain Jonathan Archer, 5th commander of a Trek series and first president of the Federation. Did he pass or fail as a worthy successor (precursor?) to the names of Kirk, Picard, Sisko and Janeway? We put Archer on trial and try to determine if he was a true Captain of the Enterprise.
